A brief introduction — about who I am, what I follow, and what moves me.
Hello!
I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Larissa, I’m Brazilian, and I currently live in the Netherlands. I’m a very curious and questioning person — my many doubts have already stirred some restlessness out there!
I have a special affection for themes like sustainability, nutrition, well-being, and culture. I’m easily swept away by a handmade craft, by dance, by flowers, by the green of the forest… and by quiet moments of solitude.
I have a gift for writing — to me, writing is the most beautiful way I’ve found to let my soul dance.
As a plural being, I’ve been learning to embrace the idea that I don’t have to choose just one path. I have many interests, and they all live in me, complete me, and reveal who I am.
I have a degree in journalism, and recently I discovered that the texts I write with all my heart — until recently, only for myself — are, in fact, chronicles. Since creating a blog and a newsletter, I’ve been diving into this new world. And that old voice saying “who cares about what you write?”… is finally beginning to fade.
After all, chroniclers like Clarice Lispector, and authors like Elizabeth Gilbert and Cheryl Strayed, show us there’s beauty and depth in personal experiences — and that this kind of sensitive, intimate writing touches many people, in many corners of the world.
And before it touches anyone else, it touches me. This is the space where I feel seen. This is the kind of writing that moves me.
I was born and lived until the age of 25 in southern Brazil, a region I deeply love. Then I did an exchange program in Ireland and ended up staying there for almost three years. Today, I live in the Netherlands.
While at university, I wrote a book about Dutch culture in southern Brazil. And now I’m living — firsthand — everything I once only knew through the words of my interviewees. Back then, I was the one listening to difficult Portuguese. Now, I’m the one speaking tangled Dutch — and that’s just wonderful.
I’m fascinated by cultures. And I truly believe one of the richest ways to get to know a place, when you’re far from home, is to fully immerse yourself, allow yourself to be a learner, and observe with presence. That’s when the subtle details of daily life begin to reveal themselves — the ones we often miss when rushing between tourist landmarks.
(Don’t get me wrong — tourist spots can be wonderful too, and they tell us a lot about a place. But personally, what moves me most is getting lost in an unfamiliar neighbourhood and watching life unfold. Listening to the local language, feeling the rhythm, sensing the energy of that little corner of the world.)
Right now, for example, I’m sitting in a lovely little café, having a date with myself. No headphones, just listening to the conversations around me, trying to practice my Dutch listening skills, piecing together sentences from fragments of dialogue I catch here and there… And all of this has been inspiring me so much!
Well, that’s it.
Here, you’ll find a bit of everything: reflections on daily life, memories that have shaped me, travel experiences, wellness practices, more conscious choices, the journey of being an immigrant — and whatever else may bloom along the way.
If any word here touches you, stay close.
It will be beautiful to walk this path together.
A big warm hug — and welcome. 🌷
